Two new cases of the coronavirus have prompted Chinese authorities to take action and impose strict restrictions on two cities. The falls, which were discovered in the cities of Dongning and Suifenhe near the Russian border, are linked to workers in a port area, among other places.
In Dongning, the authorities claim that they have now entered a “state of war”. Among other things, bus traffic has been temporarily closed and those who want to leave the city must be able to present a negative covid test. Schools may also be closed and in so-called “high-risk areas” only one person in the household can leave home every other day to buy food and the like, but not more than two hours.
The two cities will also do massive tests on their residents, which are expected to be ready in the next three days.
China, where covid-19 was discovered in the city of Wuhan late last year, has largely succeeded in stopping the virus.
