Since several analytical errors were discovered at the National Forensic Center (NFC), the board of directors of the local union Saco has resigned, several outlets report. According to P4 Östergötland, the union claims that too short an education has led to errors in, among other things, DNA testing.

SVT Öst reports that new forensic laboratory technicians are quickly trained in a few days, when the union believes it takes one to two years to achieve the proper skills. “How many potential DNA hits can you risk being lost due to uncertainty and / or unfamiliarity with who will secure the clues?” It is said in a letter from the union that SVT has read.

“I am sorry that the board members and deputies of Saco-S in the NFC police have left their assignments. On the part of the employer, we decided not to comment further on this, “writes Helena Trolläng, NFC department manager, in an email to SVT.

Magnus Åhlin, NFC’s chief security representative, confirms to TT that the entire board resigned at the annual meeting last Friday, but does not want to comment further.
