They will be new coaches for the Junior Crowns in JVM

Joel Rönnmark will be the captain of the national team and Anders Eriksén will be the assistant captain of the national team for Junior crowns at the JVM.

Anders Eriksén and Jason Pietrzykowski have been approved by the International Ice Hockey Association IIHF to join as leaders on the team.

During the week, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association has been in contact with Daniel Alfredsson, Henric Alfredsson and Andreas Karlsson, who wanted to join the team but did not get it for the international association.

Anders Eriksén is normally the captain of the Småkronorna national team, Jason Pietrzykowski is with the Edmonton Oilers every day and will have the role of video coach.

The president of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, Anders Larsson, has been told in his conversations with IIHF president René Fasel that it is impossible to allow new leaders to enter the bubble at a later stage.

– Obviously we expected another message, but we respected the decision from the point of view of infection. That said, it is also impressive to see how great profiles such as Daniel Alfredsson, Henric Alfredsson and Andreas Karlsson are prepared to defend Swedish ice hockey and the Junior Crowns at this challenging time on short notice, says Anders Larsson.

During the week, a total of four leaders from Juniorkronorna’s leadership staff tested positive for COVID-19 and are unable to travel to Canada due to the rules that apply to the tournament in Edmonton.

National team captain Tomas Montén, assistant national team captain Anders Lundberg, video coach Adam Almqvist Andersson and goalkeeping coach Nizze Landén work from home during the championship.

– The latest test results also showed that all the players and leaders who are in Sundsvall are healthy and can go to Canada, says the secretary general of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, Johan Stark.
