The record jump beat all predictions. This is stated by PostNord, which this morning publishes new figures on the volumes of packages that followed this year’s Black Week. Among other things, it stands out that the company’s agents have distributed 3.1 million packages during the week until December 6. According to a company press release, it was sold for $ 10 billion in Sweden in connection with this year’s Black Week.

The 3.1 million package figure is a 21 percent increase compared to the corresponding figure last year.

These are record volumes and there will be plenty of packages to deliver until Christmas. We see an increase of about 21 percent compared to the previous year and overall it has been going very well. It’s a really fun period and our agents do a fantastic job handling and delivering all the e-commerce pats and offers! During this period, we have delivered all shipments to our agents without major incident, plus a few hours of technical problems on December 5, says Mathias Olsson, head of PostNord’s agent network, in a comment.

In some places, record high pressure has caused agents to be overcrowded, causing packets to be redirected.

Now PostNord calls on all customers to collect their packages as soon as possible, in order to create more space for all agents in the country.

We want to ask everyone to pick up your package as soon as possible so that there is room on the agents’ shelves. Prepare yourself well and feel free to pick up your package as soon as you receive your notification. Plan if you know of your visit at a time other than between 15 and 18, when the pressure is at its highest, says Mathias Olsson.
