A first look at the next chapter of the space story “Mass Effect” was also shown.
Gadot, Reeves and Nolan
Film celebrities such as Tom Holland, Gal Gadot, Keanu Reeves, Christopher Nolan and Brie Larson presented awards. And Eddie Vedder, singer of Pearl Jam, performed “Future days” from “The last of us part II.” By the way, that game was the big winner of the night, after taking home awards for best director, best story and best performance, as well as the best statuette tonight for this year’s game.
The Sony-owned Sucker Punch samurai drama “Ghost of Tsushima” also won a pair of awards, player choice and visual appearance, while “Hades” was praised as this year’s action game and best indie game.
The indie title “Among us” has grown a lot during the pandemic, and it is a multiplayer title where a group will try to repair a spaceship, but where one of the group is a traitor who will sabotage and kill the others. The game was praised as the best mobile game and the best multiplayer game, and it was also revealed that the title will receive a new map, an airship, early next year.
No Swedish prices
One of the first prizes announced ahead of the gala was for this year’s family game, where Sweden’s “Minecraft dungeons” were nominated.
But “Animal Crossing: New Horizons,” which received a lot of attention throughout the year, cheated the award.
Tonight’s second Swedish jump, Paradox “Crusader kings III”, also did not receive an award for best strategy / simulator. That award was fooled by the PC game “Microsoft Flight Simulator,” which hits Xbox next summer.
