Healthcare giant Capio is behind the bug, which was discovered last Friday.
Most of the affected patients are listed in one of the company’s health centers in the Västra Götaland region.
Stefan Bremberg, Capio’s chief physician and local healthcare data protection representative, tells the newspaper that the fault lies with the company’s external provider.
– We take this very seriously and want to know how it could happen. We have not yet received a full report from the supplier. As soon as we were informed, we also started an internal investigation with us.
