The Texas Attorney General has started a legal civil war to save Donald Trump in power.
Now, a Republican member goes one step further and wants the state to leave the United States.
“The federal government does not represent our values,” said Kyle Biedermann under the motto Texit.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton wants the Supreme Court to deprive the states of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin of the right to send voters to the formal election of a new president by the Electoral College.
He writes in the HD complaint that these states have illegally allowed changes to the electoral system, leading to widespread fraud and deception. The possibility of the court addressing the issue, which legal observers consider almost nonexistent, is Donald Trump’s latest lifeline in his attempts to stay in power.
A decision from the Supreme Court is expected soon. On Monday, the Electoral College meets to vote and then the president is formally elected.
If the four accused states, all won by Joe Biden, lose their total of 62 electoral votes, none of the candidates will reach the 270 votes required for victory. Joe Biden then ends up at 244 and Donald Trump at 232. In that case, a winner can be chosen in another way.

Gets the support of many Republicans
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has also endorsed the Attorney General’s request that he “provide clarity on the entire electoral process,” the Texas Tribune wrote.
To date, 18 states, all of which have Republican justices of justice and 106 Republican members of the House of Representatives, have supported the Supreme Court. Donald Trump met with several of the participating justice ministers during a meeting at the White House on Thursday, writes NBC News.
Many legal experts are furious that Texas is starting a kind of legal civil war to deprive other states of the right to have their votes counted in presidential elections.
Ken Paxton, who runs the risk of federal prosecution for bribery and abuse of power, has been accused of starting a cynical game to be pardoned by Donald Trump himself before leaving the White House. As recently as Wednesday, the FBI filed a lawsuit regarding the Paxton investigation against the Attorney General’s staff.
But Ken Paxton is not the only one in Texas who wants to attack the federal system, now that Joe Biden is taking over the White House.

Republican Representative Kyle Biedermann of the Texas House of Representatives wrote on Twitter that he would introduce a bill in which the people should hold a referendum on whether the state should leave the United States and become an independent nation.
“The federal government is out of control and does not represent the values of the people of Texas,” he wrote with the hashtag Texit.
“That is why I am committed to submitting a bill that allows a referendum so that the people of Texas can vote for the state of Texas to affirm its status as an independent nation.”
Abhi Rahman, a spokesman for the Texas Democrats, says the measure is further proof of how little Republicans care about the country and the will of the people.

Texas, through a growing influx of liberals from abroad to its big cities and an increasing proportion of minorities, has in recent years made itself increasingly available to Democrats. But until now, Republicans maintain a tight grip on the state.

Trump stor in Texas
And that’s where much of the more aggressive support for President Trump has been.
In the days leading up to the election, there was an uproar as hundreds of Trump supporters with their cars tried to stop, and possibly pry, a bus belonging to Joe Biden’s campaign as it drove down the highway between Laredo and San Antonio.
Trump shared a video of the incident and called supporters patriots.
Biedermann’s move is seen as a major victory for the nationalist movement formed in the state in 2005.
“Whether they support independence or not, the people of Texas must have an open, free, and fair debate on the issue that ends in a decisive referendum,” said David Miller, leader of the Texas Nationalist Movement, according to the Dallas Morning News. .
On Thursday, the states that were targeted in the Texas lawsuit gave their answers.
“Overthrowing all elections in Pennsylvania is against all sense of justice and would do nothing less than deny millions of voters their fundamental right to vote.” Nothing in the text, history, or structure of the constitution supports the view of Texas that they can dictate how four other states conduct their elections, “Pennsylvania Democratic attorney Josh Shapiro wrote to HD, NBC News reported.
The only state with a Texas-nominated Republican attorney general is Georgia. And there they continue to rebel against Donald Trump and the Republican majority who continue to try to annul the electoral result.
Attorney General Chris Carr called the lawsuit “an attack on Georgia’s sovereignty,” according to NBC News.
