Center leader Annie Lööf says a message about the future from Fredrick Federley, an EU MP and second vice president of the party, is delayed.
A message about the political future from EU MP Fredrick Federley in the Center Party will take some time, according to party leader Annie Lööf. She maintains that trust in him is damaged.
Recently it became known, among other things through the Stoppa Pressarna and Expressen site, that a former relative of Federley has been convicted of serious sexual crimes against children. In connection with this, Federley himself announced on social media that what was said about the man he was in a relationship with was sadly true and that they had now gone their separate ways. He would take a break from politics for a while and meet because he feels so bad mentally.
Delayed message
Soon after, party secretaries Michael Athursson and Annie Lööf clarified that trust in Federley, who is also C’s second vice president and one of the party’s better-known names, was damaged. He had not informed them if he had known for a long time the trials of his former relative.
But a message about what awaits Federley regarding the future of the match may be delayed, Annie Lööf tells TT.
– We have received information that he knows what his former relatives have done for heinous crimes for a long time and that is what damages confidence.
She says it’s basically a sad and personal tragedy for Federley, who is on sick leave and receiving care to recover. On Friday, the party has a party board meeting, but then there will be no further information, according to Lööf.
– It will be a common information about your appearance. Cases like this are handled in a very tight circle because they are sensitive tasks. Then there will be no decision on Friday.
Return?
TT: Can you come back?
– It’s too early to say right now, now we focus on getting Fredrick to stand up and feel better and then we’ll have those conversations later.
TT: When will your future be decided? Is it you or him who decides?
– We have had serious conversations, but it is simply not possible now, due to great mental illness, to have those conversations and certainly not in the media.
Federley himself so far has not wanted to comment on the matter, other than the post he made on Facebook when the matter was known.
