GOTHENBURG / STOCKHOLM. Kennet Andersson leaves his assignments at IFK Gothenburg.
More recently, he has served as a sports advisor.
– I have decided to move on to new challenges, Andersson writes on Instagram.
Throughout the year, Kennet Andersson has everything from player, board member, head of social affairs, sports director, and most recently, sports advisor at IFK Gothenburg.
In early fall, the 53-year-old coach chose, for private reasons, not to continue as sports director.
He has subsequently worked part-time on the sports council and as an advisor to the sports director Pontus Farnerud at the club.
More have stopped
– We thank Kennet for everything he has done for the association and we wish him luck in the future, says Pontus Farnerud.
– No matter what role he played, he has always put Blåvitt first and during his time as sports director, he was involved in record sales and gold cup in 2020, continues sports director Pontus Farnerud.
Earlier this week, administrative manager Alf Westerberg and analyst Linda Breding were able to leave the sports organization.
IFK Gothenburg finished twelfth in the Allsvenskan and won the Swedish Cup this season.
On his Instagram, Kennet Andersson develops more about his departure from IFK Gothenburg:
“Thank you for these years IFK Gothenburg. After another three years in the association, I have decided to move on to new challenges. I have put all my soul in the association during these years. Next year, hopefully, I’ll take a seat in the stands. I hope we succeed with the change and can push harder in the future. Thanks to all the fantastic people in the association and in Kamratgården!
Frankly, very disappointed with the Allsvenskan season, but despite that we got another title.
Forza IFK! “
