Reigning Champions League champions Lyon got off to a rocky start in the round of 16 against Juventus. The Italian giant came forward through Lina Hurtig to the fourth, and surprised the French.
French superstar Wendie Renard went 1-1 on penalties shortly after, but an own goal from Lyon gave Juventus the lead at halftime.
An explosion was near But, like so many other times, Lyon really did prepare. The tie came through Melvine Malard in 68, and with two minutes remaining in regulation time, Japan’s Saki Kumagai also scored 3-2.
Linda Sembrant played the entire game for Juventus. Lina Hurtig was replaced in 84.
Chelsea, with Jonna Andersson and Magdalena Eriksson in the starting eleven, took a comfortable 5-0 win against Benfica. Andersson played half and Eriksson the whole game. Among others, Danish Pernille Harder became the London team’s top scorer.
Wolfsburg easily won away from Serbian Subotica. Fridolina Rolfö started the game on the bench and had to jump with a quarter to play. The Germans won 5-0.
