The man is convicted of having committed crimes against 21 girls, aged twelve and over. Stock Photography.
In conversations with young girls, the 39-year-old man in Småland described himself as a 16-year-old from New York who was on his way to move to Sweden. He is now sentenced to five years in prison, local media report. It will also pay just over half a million crowns in damages to 21 girls who have been exposed to crime.
Most of the crimes were committed in 2013-2014. The man is convicted, among other things, of three rapes of children, attempted rape of children, sexual abuse of children and a felony of child pornography.
– My spontaneous reaction is that it is good for all plaintiffs to put an end to this. Many have felt very, very bad, prosecutor Linda Caneus tells Barometern.
Police opened the eyes of the man in connection with a national operation in 2017, Operation bofink, when it was revealed that he had downloaded and shared child pornography.
He is now convicted of possession of nearly 800 hours of child pornographic material, P4 Kalmar reports.
