The alarm went off shortly after 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning. A person has found an unknown and suspected dangerous object outside a house in the Västra Kattarp district of Malmö.
– The object is adjacent to a semi-detached house and we cannot immediately rule out that it is a dangerous object. As a result, the area has been cordoned off, says Katarina Rusin at the police command center.
The bomb shelter must have arrived at 09.45.
– They are on site and working to examine the object.
Residents of the house have been evacuated. Police have urged staff and children at a nearby preschool to stay inside.
– Everyone inside the barrier is spoken to and told how to behave, says Katarina Rusin.
What do you urge people in the area to do?
– You must listen to the instructions you receive from the police on the spot. The barriers are large enough that no person is injured if the object turns out to be dangerous. You must respect that barrier.
