The alarm reached police shortly before 8 p.m. Monday night. A man in his 35s had been found wounded in the Skönsberg residential area in central Sundsvall. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. At around 11pm, the police announced on their website that the man had died from his injuries. Family members are notified.

Police suspect the man was shot and killed and have launched a preliminary investigation into the murder. According to the information, several people have been seen leaving the scene in connection with the incident, but no one has yet been arrested. The crime scene has been blocked for a technical investigation.

At present, it is believed “that this is an isolated incident linked to the criminal sphere,” the police write.

– There are a lot of police in the area and a lot of people outside, there is a somewhat rushed atmosphere, says Patric Sellén, SVT reporter on the scene at 8.30pm.

The police would like to contact people who have seen or heard something in the area at the time.
