Alexander Lunsjö scored a hat trick when Västerås defeated Modo.

Three wins in a row.

But Västerås stopped Modo’s suite.

Thanks to a hat trick hero.

At home, Västerås won 4-1 against Modo at the Hockeyallsvenskan. Where they were for a turn – and Alexander Lunsjö scored a hat trick.

For just under four minutes in between, the guests broke zero. Modo won the puck in the middle zone, and with a low shot Emil Kruse was outwitted by Aleksi Heponiemi. Who scored his sixth goal of the season.

The answer came quickly. 50 seconds later, Alexander Lunsjö equalized, taking advantage of Oliver Dackell’s goalkeeper’s second round. So Västerås took advantage of Modo’s mistakes.

They first received an ejection due to too many players on the ice, and then Tommy Enström was forced to sit in the ejection booth for cutting. And Västerås managed one minute and 16 seconds in the five-on-three game.

“I do not remember”

Then the home team completed the turn – through the crossbar Lukas Zetterberg made it 2-1 with a rock-hard shot.

Midway through the final period, Lunsjö turned into a two-goal shooter, the striker made room in the offensive zone and the shot looked towards the area between the leg guards at Dackell. And when Modo chose him in the reduction hunt, Lunsjö completed his hat trick with a goal in an open cage. And 4-1 to Västerås.

– I don’t remember when I did the hat trick the last time, it was probably a while ago. In the second goal I aimed for the crossroads, but it went to the tunnel. It was fun, Alexander Lunsjö tells C More.

The loss was the first after three consecutive victories for Modo. And after the final signal, coach Pär Styf was disappointed.

– We have come a long way and we are constantly trying to take steps forward and develop ourselves. But there are too many today who are unwilling to pay the price and are not humble enough before the task, Styf tells C More.
