For five years he has taken the obvious place as the toughest and hardest “Idols” to impress jurors. But now choose Nikki Amini, 36, to leave the popular TV4 talent competition.

She gives the surprise message exclusively to Aftonbladet immediately after this year’s “Idol” finale ends.

– That I experienced one last “Idol” final with Nadja and Paulina as finalists is the best ending to my “Idol” career that I could have imagined, he says.

Offered to continue

According to Nikki Amini, TV4 will continue with a 17th season of “Idol” next year and the channel wanted her to continue on the jury. But in the end, he chose to say no.

– I am extremely flattered that I have been given the continued confidence to remain on the jury of “Idol” in 2021, but I have decided to say no, he says.

Why did you decide to quit smoking?

– I have been struck by new opportunities and interesting projects that I want to focus on next year. With the publication of my book “I can make you a star”, I now also hope to continue doing what I love the most, inspiring and training those who want to develop their full potential.

When were you asked to continue and how long did it take you to decide to say no?

– This is a decision that came up during the fall. When the question came up a few weeks ago, I was naturally happy, but I also feel like it’s time to move on with fun new projects.

“It was fun discovering artists”

How do you feel about your five years on “Idol”?

– I am extremely proud to have participated in creating an “idol” that felt relevant and attractive. Above all, it has been a lot of fun discovering future artists from the Swedish music scene. I am thankful to have worked with so many professional people in the production of Idol over the years.

Nikki Amini took a spot on the “Idol” jury in 2016 along with Fredrik Kempe Y Quincy Jones III. The following year, Amini and the newcomer created a new quartet of judges. Alexander Kronlund along with returning “Idol” veterans Anders Bagge Y Kishti tomita.
