Several animal rights activists launched an action at the mink farm north of Falkenberg in Halland in August last year.

When activists, some of whom were masked, attacked the doors of the mink farm and the atmosphere turned angrier, the police announced a ban on the use of masks. Activists who did not remove their masks were reported.

The activists are now being convicted, among other things, of masking bans and illegal intrusion. The sanction in all cases will be a daily fine.

According to Tobias Bergkvist, head of the regional investigation unit and regional head of the operation, the operation against criminal activists for animal rights in the Western Region has yielded remarkable results.

– The work has resulted in several people active in the environment being convicted of crimes against people in the livestock industry and that the influx of cases in the region has subsequently decreased significantly, tells police in the western region .
