After the summer, several women testified on social media about how they had been harassed by a man on the Blue and Pink Express bus lines. Police confirmed they were aware of the incidents and Västtrafik deployed security hosts.
In mid-October, the man, in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of sexual harassment or harassment. He has now been convicted of seven out of a total of nine counts with the penalty of a suspended sentence and a fine. The latter, however, was offset by the time the man has been detained.
So far, the verdict has only been announced orally and prosecutor Moa Widjer wants to read the written version before commenting on the result.
– But I can affirm that he was convicted by seven out of nine points. The district court also found no reason to distrust the plaintiffs, but their stories appeared to be credible, she says.
The man’s lawyer, Anders Segerblom, does not want to comment on the case.

Even the police harassed by the man
All nine applicants are women and the preliminary investigation shows that even a police officer, who set off an alarm on the man, was harassed. “In the service, you have to put up with a lot of bad language, but you shouldn’t have to put up with this as a woman,” she says.
It is not clear why the crimes at Blå and Rosa Express occurred. According to Moa Widjer, the authorities know quite a bit about the man and it has also been difficult to question him.
– He was with the first day (of negotiations, editor’s note) but then had to be held in his absence. He just didn’t want to join, says Moa Widjer.
He wanted the man to undergo a full forensic psychiatric examination. However, due to the corona pandemic, the National Board of Forensic Medicine only performs them if the person is in custody, which is not the case here. During arrest, the suspect remains alone with the National Board of Forensic Medicine, while non-detainees come and go during the investigation.

According to John Henzlert, a communicator for the Forensic Medicine Agency, forensic psychiatric examinations will only be postponed, not canceled.
Prosecutor Moa Widjer does not want to comment on the missing investigation.
