Report: the head doctor went to work on the symptoms of the crown

According to a report by Ivo, the Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate, the chief doctor went to work for two days in October, despite the person having “obvious symptoms that could be compatible with covid-19.”

When colleagues asked the doctor to go home, they were told that he had antibodies to the disease.

But the doctor had never tested for antibodies or COVID-19. Therefore, colleagues fell asleep with false assurance, according to the report.

The doctor participated in a “team” and was scheduled to participate in an employee interview with his immediate superior, who is also the one who wrote the report to Ivo.

“I asked him to go home immediately,” writes the boss.

“Indiscriminate conduct”

The notified chief physician himself had requested to perform covid tests on two occasions, but this was not done because only a manager can book the tests, as stated in Ivo’s report.

The author believes that, therefore, the chief doctor himself should have suspected that she was infected and that she had shown “repeated reckless behavior for two days”.

After the doctor was at work with suspected corona infection, 13 people fell ill in the unit where he worked, of which one patient and two relatives. The others are personal.

According to the letter to Ivo, only one of the infected has been able to point out another possible source of infection.

The author believes that it is not a question of how many or if someone has been infected by the doctor, but the indiscriminate behavior itself.

According to the report, the chief physician has not shown any understanding that he acted incorrectly.

As the employer no longer trusts her, the doctor was fired in mid-November.

The doctor: “I’m in shock”

The doctor himself considers it unreasonable that he lost his job.

– I’m surprised. It is terribly rude to be fired. If any action were relevant, it would be a warning. I have worked perfectly at SU since 2008, he says.

The doctor believes it is not true that she came to work on a Wednesday and was seriously affected by a respiratory infection. In hindsight, you don’t think you did anything wrong.

– I had no suspicions of being ill on Wednesday. I started feeling affected on Thursday, but I often have a one-sided sore throat and had taken antibiotics. That day I had no contact with patients. On Saturday I did a covid test that came back positive, he says.

The doctor now works elsewhere, but says she will work to get her job back at Sahlgrenska and that she receives help from lawyers from the Swedish Medical Association.
