Helsingborg can start over on the Superettan.

Injured captain Andreas Granqvist takes it very badly.

– I’m disappointed, sad and I understand if the fans feel the same, the 35-year-old tells HD.

HIF captain Andreas Granqvist was injured and only played 54 minutes in the Allsvenskan this year.

When it is now clear that Helsingborg, with whom he has strong ties, is leaving the series and falling into the Superettan, it is a severe blow, he says.

“Not tonight we lose the place”

– When it’s done now, it’s like getting a hard slap in the face. But it is not tonight that we lose the place of Allsvenskan. I have believed in this whole team all along and believed that we will survive. Right now it is incredibly difficult. I came home to take us to the Allsvenskan and make sure HIF was established. Now we have to start over, and it feels difficult, says “Granen” to HD.

Will work to return

Granqvist has a player contract for several more years and will continue; if the qualified hill can not play, he will work in the role of sports director.

He says that it is not acceptable for a club like HIF to leave.

– We should be incredibly disappointed today, but then it is time to start analyzing, evaluating and continuing to work. We will do our best to come back as soon as possible, Granqvist tells HD.
