It was at 11 a.m. on March 27 that police were alerted to a garage at Birger Jarlsgatan in Stockholm after a shooting.
At the scene, an armed perpetrator had broken into a tire company and shot a young man to death. Another person was injured, but survived.

According to information from Expressen, the murder has been investigated as part of an alleged spiral of violence that includes the explosion at Café Sirap in Vasastan earlier that month and the murder of a man who was found dead in a cemetery in Nacka in April.
Conflict over the sale of drugs
This is now confirmed by prosecutors in connection with the indictment that began Monday morning.
– In the background there is a conflict over the sale of drugs on a fairly large scale, says the chamber prosecutor Marina Chirakova and continues:
– I want to say that the starting shot will be on March 6. Later, the then owner of Café Sirap is threatened with an object similar to a pistol in the same place where the shooting takes place. The evidence is that these events, the Café Sirap explosion and the murder, are connected.
Just a month after the investigation began, a 36-year-old man was arrested as a suspect in the murder. He is now charged with, among other things, murder and attempted murder.
A woman in her 35s who has been previously arrested on suspicion of complicity in the murder is only prosecuted for drug offenses of a normal degree alongside the man.

Earlier this year, French police cracked the encrypted chat service Encrochat, leading to a large number of arrests in various investigations. Also in this murder investigation, the police and prosecutors have been assisted by excerpts from Encrochat.
– It is a talk between two people who have nothing to do with this chain of events. However, they discuss what happened and what lies behind it, says Chirakova.
On March 6, the then owner of Café Sirap was threatened with a weapon in the garage. Three weeks later, an explosion occurred outside the cafe’s premises. A few weeks later, the owner of the cafe was found murdered in a Nacka cemetery.

Marina Chirakova also leads the investigation after the cemetery murder, but is left speechless.
– I don’t want to comment on that. Preliminary investigation is ongoing in that part. No one is detained.
Expressen has previously reported that the spiral of violence is related to the criminal Östberganätverket.
– I don’t want to comment on that part. What I can say is that this is serious organized crime. That’s pretty clear, says Chirakova.
