Here are today’s English football headlines.
TODAY’S SNACK I
Edinson Cavani risks a three-game suspension if the English league, FA, believes the Manchester United player has used racist language on his social media, The Guardian reports.
It was after the game against Southampton, where Cavani turned the result almost into his own hands with his two goals and an assist, that the forward took to Instagram. In a post that was later removed, he wrote “thank you nigga!” to a fan who congratulated him on the victory.
“Negrito” was the word his compatriot Luis Suárez used against Patrice Evra during a match between Liverpool and Manchester United in 2011. At the time of the incident, Suárez claimed that it is a word used in good faith and not as a kind of racist comment. . The FA thought differently and gave Suarez an eight-game suspension.
The regulations say that a player who posts a post on social media that refers to a person’s ethnicity, skin color or nationality runs the risk of being punished. This regardless of whether the post, as in Cavani’s case, is subsequently deleted. Bernardo Silva put himself in a similar situation last year after comparing teammate Benjamin Mendy to an inappropriate image of a Spanish cartoon character, a play that ended in a suspension from the game.

Arsenal are criticized for letting David Luiz continue playing after the nasty clash with Raúl Jiménez. The last Wolves player was rushed to hospital, but should have regained consciousness a few hours later, according to the club.
Luiz, on the other hand, continued to play with an extensive bandage on his head through which blood was leaking. The midfielder came out at half-time and many now believe he should have been immediately retired. “How uncomfortable was it not to see him?” Says the Daily Mail. “Arsenal should have taken a closer look at him.”
Mikel Arteta responded to criticism at the press conference after the 1-2 loss: “We followed the minutes to make sure he was okay,” says the coach. “David wanted to finish, but we decided to take him out at half time because he had a hard time heading the ball.”

TODAY’S SNACKIS III
Jürgen Klopp is criticized for his acclaimed interview after the game against Brighton (1-1). The coach went on to verbally attack BT and said it was his fault that James Milner was injured. Klopp has recently expressed his frustration over matches with the 12:30 start time on Saturdays, which will be close to any midweek cup match.
Reporter Des Kelly defended his employer, saying Klopp should turn to people higher in the Liverpool hierarchy for change. Kelly also has the backing of several big names in England. Chris Sutton says, for example, that “Klopp has this on his hind legs” and “accusing BT of Milner’s injury will be outright embarrassing.”
TODAY’S HAPPY STATISTICS
Southampton may have lost in the end, but James Ward-Prowse continues to climb the list of Englishmen who have scored the most free throws of all time. The player is now second with his nine goals alongside Frank Lampard and Jamie Redknapp. David Beckham, who tops the list, still has a real advantage with his 18 hits.

TODAY’S BLANK STATISTICS
Sheffield United is the third club to collect just two points in ten rounds played. The last time this happened in the English Premier League was in 1985 when West Bromwich got off to a bad start and ultimately declined. Before that, it was the 1930/1931 edition of Man United that showed the same weak form (zero points after ten rounds).
