Degerfors coach: “We’ll figure it out next Saturday”

In the clip above you can see what disappointed Degerfors players Oliver Ekroth and Johan Bertilsson and coach Andreas Holmberg have to say about the breakthrough in Örebro and the last match against Ljungskile.

Three rounds in a row, Degerfors had a chance to secure promotion to the Allsvenskan. For the first time, the team did the required work and defeated Gais 2-1 on November 7. But then Jönköpings Södra also won, which meant that the match had to wait.

The next opportunity came last weekend, but then AFC Eskilstuna won 2-0. At the same time, Jönköping won his match again.

On Saturday Degerfors had his third chance, in a match that moved from Stora Valla to the Behrn Arena in Örebro.

The biggest loss of the season

The team then represented the flat match of the season and lost 2-5 at the same time as J Södra won at home against Trelleborg 2-1.

This means that the DIF now have just a two-point lead over the Smålanders before the final round of the Superettan next Saturday. The team then meets Ljungskile, who is now ready to relegate away from home, and one point is probably all that is required for Allsvenskan’s dream to come true after all. Degerfors has, in addition to a two-point advantage, a difference of 13 goals better than Jönköpings Södra.

If you are unsuccessful, a qualifying match against a fully Swedish team awaits you.
