Dejan Kulusevski had to start on the bench in the 1-1 game against Benevento.
Then, coach Andrea Pirlo was asked why the Swede has dropped in the rankings.
– We buy it because we know what it can do, it has not been so sharp in recent games but it is a process, says Pirlo according to Football-Italia.
After a busy month, Cristiano Ronaldo was rested by Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo. But even though the superstar was not on the team, Dejan Kulusevski had to start on the bench against Benevento.
There he saw Álvaro Morata give Juventus the lead before Benevento tied at the end of the first half.
Looking for a goal lead, Kulusevski was finally replaced in the 63rd minute. But the Swede had a hard time coloring and the match ended 1-1.
“Completely different level of responsibility”
It was the second straight game the 20-year-old started on the bench and he has been in and out of the starting eleven this fall.
That was something that Italian journalists asked Andrea Pirlo in the subsequent press conference.
– He is a young player and cannot play every game. But let’s not forget that playing for Parma is not the same as Juventus. It’s a completely different level of responsibility, Pirlo says according to Football-Italia.
Juventus is fifth in Serie A with 17 points, three behind league leaders Milan, who have one game less played.
