Norrbotten residents are the worst in the country when it comes to seatbelt use, Vi Bilägare writes, referring to a survey by the National Association for the Promotion of Road Safety (NTF).
Only 89 percent of drivers and 85 percent of passengers in Norrbotten County used seat belts in relation to observations made in the fall of 2020.
The best in the country are residents of Stockholm and Halland counties, where 99 percent of drivers and passengers wear seat belts. In shared third place are residents of Jönköping, Uppsala and Skåne counties, with 98 percent of passengers and drivers. The second worst is Kronoberg County with 92 percent of drivers and 96 percent of passengers.
Total belt use in the country is 96 percent. Men are worse than women at wearing seat belts, writes the newspaper.
NTF conducted 350,000 observations in all municipalities of the country during three weeks.
