Dahlqvist and Svahn impressed in the playoffs

Maja Dahlqist continues to show great form. Last weekend he won the sprint in Bruksvallarna and today he recorded the second fastest time in the sprint qualifier in Ruka.

Dahlqvist managed the 1.25 kilometer track of 3.00.04, just over four seconds behind Norway’s Ane Appelkvist Stenseth, who was the fastest of all.

– I thought it felt really good. Quiet and controlled too. I drove well technically, Maja Dahlqvist tells SVT Sport.

I wanted to save a lot of energy

Later today, wait for the final session.

– The plan was to hire me as cheaply as possible and save a lot. It will be difficult to drive from the last hill, says Dahlqvist.

Linn Svahn, who won the speed cup last season, was 5.60 seconds behind Appelkvist Stenseth.

Jonna Sundling (6), Anna Dyvik (8), Emma Ribom (11), Frida Karlsson (12) and Moa Lundgren (14) also advanced.

– Good. Driving a little stressed. I was so nervous this morning, says Ribom.

Johaug took last place

The only Swede who did not advance from the playoffs was Ebba Andersson. The 23-year-old finished 36th and was within two seconds of the top 30 and one place in the final session.

Therese Johaug stumbled on. The Norwegian star finished in 30th place and became the last skier to advance. However, Krista Pärmäkoski is eliminated after her 32nd place.
