The government has been criticized for backtracking on handling the corona pandemic in Sweden.
But as the spread of the infection has increased again after the summer, the government under the leadership of Stefan Löfven, and other authorities and actors, has been viewed differently.
Last Friday, take Svenska Dagbladet as an example, the government held three different press conferences where new measures were presented and the importance of social distancing was maintained. On Sunday, Stefan Löfven delivered a speech to the nation in which he did the same: he reminded the Swedish people to persevere, persevere.
– During the spring, the Public Health Agency was sometimes very busy. I think it’s very good that we now have a lot of different actors saying the same thing, Anders Tegnell tells SvD.
Tegnell: Other actors with “in a completely different way”
He believes that it is good that the messages are also raised at the regional and municipal level – and that “other actors” were not so visible at first.
– It is not only us, but also the other actors, who are now involved in a completely different way.
The current forecast from the Public Health Agency could spread the infection to a peak in mid-December, but in Thursday’s press conference, Anders Tegnell said that:
– We may see a trend that can be broken earlier.
He then referred to the fact that the restrictions that have been introduced have taken effect.
– We believe in local effort. They have been shown to have fairly large effects on how many people are away from home and how much they work from home, he tells SvD.
