Mellin: Nobody knows who Märta Stenevi is

It takes more than a new mouthpiece for that

Published:

Only four percent of Green Party voters wanted Märta Stenevi as their new spokesperson.

Now it is still proposed by the nominating committee.

Its uphill is steep.

The burning question is, of course, whether Märta Stenevi, 44, can save the Green Party. The answer is no, it takes more than a change in the position of the female mouthpiece for the very meager opinion figures to turn upward.

What speaks for Stenevi is his joy image. Unlike the current Isabella Lövin mouthpiece, which often looks gloomy and very serious.

Stenevi also has a strong position among the assets in the match. She was elected party secretary in the spring of 2019, despite the nomination committee having nominated someone else.

But in the Green Party electorate, she is not equal Popular. In When Aftonbladet / Demoskop asked who else they wanted to see as Lövin’s successor, four percent, four out of a hundred, responded Märta Stenevi. The one who had the most support was Deputy Rebecka Le Moine, who wanted twelve percent. A not very impressive figure either.

Another downside in the minutes is that Märta Stenevi is not known. That is perhaps your biggest problem. Virtually no one knows who Märta Stenevi is. But she shares this with nearly the seven women who expressed an interest in becoming a new spokesperson.

One of the disadvantages of Stenevi is that it does not sit in the Riksdag, where you will learn the political trade that can distinguish winners from losers. Or have been active nationally for a particularly long time, almost 1.5 years.

Märta Stenevi has emerged from local politics in Skåne, where she was a regional councilor and city councilor in Malmö.

The weak also belong to their weaknesses the environmental profile. During the press conference, he emphasized that the Green Party needs to improve its distribution policy.

But the environment and climate are the incomparably strongest theme of the Green Party and what I think the party should do is increase its credibility there.

So not only have ideas but also be able to implement them. At that time, it has been a bit like this and like this over the years as a ruling party.

Märta Stenevi, they themselves expressed that the MP did not It only takes the Greta generation, that is, the enthusiastic followers of Greta Thunberg, but also her parents.

At the press conference, Märta Stenevi said it is a later question whether she will also succeed Isabella Lövin as minister.

One can, of course, imagine that another person assumes that assignment. It is also conceivable that Stefan Löfven will reorganize the government and leave another post vacant, even if it seems unlikely. You have other things to worry about right now.

The main reason she is likely to take a seat in government is that the Green Party is in dire need of making her known. The party is firmly parked under the crucial four percent barrier in opinion polls. If the deputy really believes in Stenevi as a voice magnet, voters should know that she exists. Otherwise, electoral defeat is very close.

But Märta Stenevi is no different climatic voice that has been Lövin. She was the journalist who became an environmental debater who became a politician.

It will be decided last January if Märta Stenevi is elected. Then the Green Party has an additional digital congress, without disturbing the hallway cast. There is no space for it online.
