Lawyer wants to investigate circumstances surrounding Maradona’s death

Diego Maradona’s lawyer, Matías Morla, wants to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the soccer legend.

It must have been twelve hours before the medical staff saw him and the ambulance was delayed for half an hour.

– It’s an idiotic crime, he says.

Diego Armando Maradona died of a heart attack at his home in Tigre in the north of Buenos Aires.

Now his lawyer Matías Morla wants to start an investigation into what he harshly calls an inexplicable and idiotic crime.

– Today is a day of deep pain, pain and reflection. In my heart I feel the loss of a friend whom I have loyally honored until the last day. I personally said goodbye, the ceremony should be an intimate and personal moment, says Matías Morla in an official statement on social networks.

You want to go to the bottom

Now he doesn’t want the circumstances surrounding Maradona’s death to be overlooked in any way.

– According to prosecutors, it is inexplicable that Diego has not had the care or control of medical personnel for twelve hours. The ambulance took more than half an hour to arrive, it is a criminal idiocy. This factual information should not go unnoticed and I ask that it be investigated to the end. As Diego told me: “You are my soldier, who acts without mercy,” says Matías Morla.

“An unusual death”

Alfredo Cahe, who has been one of Maradona’s doctors, shares the same opinion as the lawyer.

– It is at least an unusual death, Diego was not treated properly. He should have been in the hospital, a patient in his condition should under no circumstances be discharged after a week. Sending him home was stupid and a mistake, in addition, he should have had a suitable doctor by his side who could help him in emergencies, says Alfredo Cahe according to the CalcioMercato site.

Divided the family

Acute heart failure, enlarged heart, and pulmonary edema are listed as the cause of death in the preliminary medical report.

– To define Diego in this moment of great emptiness and much pain, I can say that he was a good man. He was the best footballer in history and he was an honest man. Rest in peace, brother, says Matías Morla.

The lawyer has been controversial before, Maradona’s daughters Dalma and Giannina have criticized him for his influence on the more separated father and children.

Argentine President Alberto Fernández announced three days of national mourning, during which Diego Maradona is on the lookout for tens of thousands of visitors to the Casa Rosada Presidential Palace in Buenos Aires.
