Professor Åke Lundkvist led a study that showed that a particularly rapid test for the presence of antibodies was highly accurate. The results were the first of their kind and received a lot of attention.
Two researchers, who are co-authors of the study, have pointed out that the necessary ethical permissions for the study were lacking. The head of the researchers, Eva Lindberg, professor and head of the Department of Medical Sciences, has sent a report to the university rector, who will decide whether the Uppsala University council should address the matter to investigate deviations from good practice research.
– This is a difficult case with many ambiguities, so we want to give it a try, Eva Lindberg tells UNT.
