Diego Maradona won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in 1986 and was praised as the best player of the tournament. In the quarterfinals against England, he scored a goal with his hand, which later became known as “the hand of God”.

Had health problems

Maradona had health problems recently after a long period of addiction. Relatively recently, he had suffered two heart attacks and also had liver problems.

Three weeks ago he was taken to the hospital after suffering from anemia and dehydration. On a CT scan, a subdural hemorrhage was discovered in the space between the skull and the brain, after which the then 60-year-old newcomer had to undergo surgery.

He was released from the hospital on November 11.
