At least eight people were killed and dozens injured in two bomb attacks on a police station in the Turkish-controlled area of northern Syria, according to the opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), which monitors the war from Britain.

A police officer, two policemen and two civilians were killed in a car bomb attack at a police station on the outskirts of al-Bab city. In addition, 19 other people were injured.

An explosive device in a vehicle near a bakery in the city of Afrin, in turn, claimed the lives of three people and injured 16 others.

Neither group has taken action yet, but SOHR chief Rami Abdul Rahman says the IS terrorist movement is probably behind it.

IS lost control of al-Bab and the surrounding areas in 2017, but has continued to carry out bloody attacks in the region. The remaining remnants of the movement are mainly based in inaccessible desert areas.
