After the 1-1 match at Gamla Ullevi, Pontus Wernbloom yelled “horrible jump” at 20-year-old Emil Holm. Head coach Roland Nilsson chimed in and said, “Pinch again, Pontus.”
Later, Pontus Wernbloom apologized to his young teammate.
– It pissed me off a bit as much as possible but it wasn’t with Emil Holm. He turned out to be the first old man I met and it happened to him. It could easily have been Mattias Bjärsmyr, says Pontus Wernbloom and continues:
– I have spoken with Emil Holm and he is calm. I have apologized and there are no hard feelings. It was in the heat of battle. I have not been able to control myself for 34 years. It was the same now. And everything is heard now, he says.
Emil Holm sees everything resolved.
– That is what happens. Was nothing. He apologized, so there were no oddities. He said it wasn’t personal to me, Holm said.
The result then? Pontus Wernbloom is quite satisfied with one point.
– There were possibilities in both directions. BK Häcken invited to the party. We defended very well despite being pressured. We got a stick and it was a fair result. We didn’t win, so you can’t be very happy but it was a step forward, he says.
Regarding Ahmed Yasin’s comment that the bad surface suited the “elderly”, he says:
– It doesn’t hurt, haha. They are used for fine carpets and artificial grass. It was the same for both teams. That is what it is. It is November in Sweden. If you don’t want to play on artificial grass, you can probably expect this, says Wernbloom.
