A week after the government announced that the public meeting limit will be lowered to eight, county administrative boards are implementing the decision. To avoid confusion, county administrative boards have decided to introduce the rules in the same way across the country.
“In all counties, we agree to an audience limit of eight. I hope that we can quickly reverse the trend so that we can finally raise the roof again. Here I can see an advantage in that we have regional control over the roof for seated audiences, as we can decide for ourselves when it is time to go up, ”says Skåne Governor Anneli Hulthén in a press release.
Restaurants and cafes are excluded from the eight-person limit as they are governed by a different set of rules. However, this does not apply if the restaurant is hosting a concert or anything else that counts as a public event.
Another exception is made for funerals, where the ceiling is 20 people instead of eight, as long as it is possible to keep the distance.
