It was on November 12 that the 31-year-old professional soldier was last seen leaving his home in southern Stockholm to run. Since then, he has not been seen again.
The search has started from Hellasgården in Nacka municipality and they have been as far south as the Tyresta area and have searched around Sörmlandsleden.
– Search effort has been good and we’ve had time for very large areas, but unfortunately we don’t have relevant findings that could lead us to a specific search area, says Therese Haugen, operations manager for the voluntary organization Missing People.
Like many other volunteers, he has spent his free time searching for the 31-year-old in the rain, debris, and rough terrain. Most of the volunteers are military, some close companions of the disappeared. On Saturday, up to 400 people participated in the search work and then the Missing People has yet to call for widespread baldness.
They have also received help from motor vehicles on the trail, dogs, drones, and the Voluntary Air Force (FKK). On Sunday, the Nobina bus company lined up with two buses that took volunteers to search areas that are far from Hellasgården.
– It was amazing both the buses and the drivers who went wherever we wanted throughout the day, says Therese Haugen.
On Saturday, the Police began what is called a rescue operation with the aim of gathering information on the 31-year-old missing person. On Sunday, they also searched with a helicopter and flew over the Nackare reserve, various media reported. But there is no suspicion of crime.
When night fell, the search ended on Sunday. The professional army has been missing for ten days.
– We must hope to find him as soon as possible. That’s the goal we all have, says Therese Haugen.
