US President Donald Trump continues his attempts to change the outcome of the elections.

US President Donald Trump has suffered another setback in his fight to change the outcome of the presidential election. A judge rejects Trump’s attempt to invalidate millions of votes by mail in Pennsylvania by calling the lawsuit “Frankenstein’s monster.”

“The court does not have the power to deprive a single person of the right to vote, much less the right to vote of millions of citizens,” writes US District Judge Matthew Brann, reports ABC News.

This is the most notable case to date that the president and his lawyers have tried to prosecute in court since the November 3 presidential election. During the trial, two of Donald Trump’s attorneys dropped the case and the president’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, appeared and pursued the case during court proceedings earlier this week.

Giuliani argued that false and technically incorrect postal votes had been counted in constituencies won by challenger Joe Biden, and therefore Pennsylvania should not approve of Biden’s victory of nearly 81,000 votes.

No convincing evidence

The argument is rejected by District Judge Matthew Brann. There has been no convincing evidence of widespread electoral fraud that can justify breaking the entire election result, he believes.

“This atmosphere, like Frankenstein’s monster, is randomly assembled,” writes Brann.

He describes Giuliani’s claims as a mixture of various accusations and speculative accusations.

“One would expect that when one attempts to obtain such an astonishing court ruling, the plaintiff would come formidably armed with compelling legal arguments and concrete evidence of widespread corruption. That is not the case,” writes Brann, who according to CNN is a well-known Republican. in Pennsylvania, although he was appointed by the former president, Democrat Barack Obama.

30th mood

It is so far the 30th lawsuit that the Trump campaign has lost in court, or that they have withdrawn themselves, where they have tried to delay or stop the election result, reports CNN.

Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, says in a statement that he is disappointed with the ruling, but:

“It turns out that today’s ruling helps us in our strategy to get to the United States Supreme Court quickly,” he writes.

The Trump campaign has now asked a higher court in Pennsylvania to urgently review the verdict, according to Giuliani. Most of the judges on that court have been appointed by Republicans, four of whom have been appointed by President Donald Trump, writes the Reuters news agency.

Delays in Michigan

In Michigan on Saturday, state Republicans in a letter asked authorities to postpone approval of the state’s election result for two weeks to allow an examination of ballots in Wayne County, which includes Detroit with a large black population. Biden leads with about 155,000 votes in the state.

However, the Republicans’ attempt to delay the election result seems risky. A spokesman for the Michigan Elections Department says state law does not allow reviews until the ballots have passed, which will happen on Monday, Reuters news agency reports.
