At least eight people were injured in a shooting at a shopping center outside Milwaukee.

The perpetrator fled the scene and is being pursued by a large police force.

At least eight people were injured in a shooting at the Mayfair Maill Mall in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, according to the local mayor. The alarm went off shortly after 10 p.m. Swedish time. Sagittarius, a young man, is still on the run.

– It will take time before we have additional, and perhaps more accurate information, but the information will be announced when it becomes available, says Mayor Dennis McBride, in a statement.

The witnesses WISN-TV spoke to had heard eight to twelve shots. According to reporters from the television station, five people had been seen being transported on stretchers from the shopping center, of which at least two sat down and were in good spirits.

None of those who were shot should be in mortal danger, writes ABC News.

Approximately 75 police officers are at the scene of the crime in Wauwatosa, just over a mile from Milwaukee.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, police officers have asked store personnel to urge customers to seek protection.

The Mayfair Mall was subjected to another shooting in February when a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed by a police officer, AP writes. Several demonstrations took place outside the mall in the following months.
