Summer 2020: Ebba Busch contacts Esbjörn, 81. He wants to buy his family’s farm. The property, which sits by a lake on the outskirts of Uppsala, has been more or less intact in recent years. Several conversations with café follow before Esbjörn finally agrees to sell the property. Meanwhile, Ebba Busch has also consulted two different brokers to value the property which is in a very attractive area. According to Ebba Busch, one of the brokers in a written statement reached a value of the property: 4,200,000 SEK.
Ebba Busch has a third broker who designs the purchase contract. Ebba Busch’s friend, influencer Margaux Dietz’s older brother, Theo, is the third runner. He designs the contract in the role of the company, Sjönära Fastighetsmälere, where he works. However, Theo Dietz’s name does not appear on the contract. In one clause, the broker disclaims all responsibility for the transaction.
Article 17 of the contract states: “The parties are aware that the broker has no broker responsibility in this transaction, since the broker has only been helpful in preparing the purchase documents in accordance with the parties’ wishes” .
The purchase price is set at SEK 3.9 million. The price is reduced because a large amount of debris has to be removed at the buyer’s expense.
August 20: Ebba Busch and Esbjörn sign the contract. It takes place at the dining table inside the family farm. In addition to the signatures on the last page, the two also sign each individual page of the document. Ebba Busch has a friend with her. The contract states that the access date is set for September 16, when Ebba Busch and Esbjörns will meet at Swedbank’s office in Uppsala and the transfer will be completed.
August 21: Esbjörn regrets the purchase and tells Expressen much later that he felt pressured by Ebba Busch to accept the sale. However, you do not remember anything about the actual contract wording.
The telephone contact will continue during one of the next days in which Esbjörn wants to cancel the purchase.
September 3: Esbjörn receives help to send a registered letter to Ebba Busch saying that he wants to cancel the deal. Of the letter:
“I have regretted the sale …”
September 16: Esbjörn does not attend the meeting at Swedbank’s office in Uppsala where the deal will be closed and the letter of purchase signed, which Ebb Busch must have for legal registration. It was the intention that he and Ebba Busch had joined the bank.
Later that day, Ebba Busch writes a letter to Esbjörn. From the letter: “We must be heard, otherwise this will be a legal process and Nordström and his partner (law firm) will take over. Please get in touch so we can get to know each other. “
The letter is signed with Ebba Busch. She has confirmed to Expressen that this is her handwriting on the letter.
September 18: Lawyer Katrin Björklund from the law firm Nordström in Uppsala sends a registered letter to Esbjörn on behalf of Ebba Busch. It’s a strictly worded letter about the sale and that he was absent from the bank meeting when the final settlement of the deal would have taken place. The letter contains a legal threat that Esbjörn may be brought to court. The lawyer also urges Esbjörn to find his own lawyer.
October 2: Esbjörn’s representative, Johann Binninge, sends a protest letter to the lawyer in which he writes that Esbjörn perceived Ebba Busch as “strong and intense in his attempts to persuade Esbjörn to sell the property.”
In the letter, the representative also writes:
“Esbjörn cannot remember when he signed the agreement and says that Ebba has pushed him a lot and that he is very sad and cries when he tells it.
October 5: Ebba Busch logs into the Lantmäteriet website and digitally requests the legal registration of the object in question. You have also scanned three pages of the purchase document. However, the first page of the contract where the sale price is indicated is not attached.
October 9: In the evening, Expressen reveals the “Ebba Busch deal” and can talk about the turmoil surrounding his purchase of the Esbjörn property. The KD leader says she acts in good faith and perceived Esbjörn as “crystal clear” during their conversations on the firmness issue. Esbjörn himself explains that he felt pressured by Ebba Busch to sign, that he does not remember certain parts of the process and gives different answers about where the purchase was signed.
Ebba Busch stated in an interview with Expressen that she felt “depressed” when she was told that Esbjörn felt pressured to accept the sale.
– I have perceived Esbjörn as mine, but a very clear and different man with his positions and opinions. He’s been very direct in the conversations we’ve had over the summer, he said.
At the same time, Ebba Busch noted that, under certain circumstances, it might consider terminating the deal.
October 19: The National Land Survey rejects Ebba Busch’s legal request. It is simply too incomplete.
October 22: Expressen reports that Ebba Busch has filed a new legal application. But a signed purchase letter is missing in which two people witness the seller’s signature.
November 18th. The deal on the way to court. Ebba Busch doesn’t want to back down. Esbjörn, who for a time wanted to meet her and discuss the deal, refuses and closes the door. “Esbjörn feels cheated by Ebba”, says his agent Johann Binninge
