The verdict against the hockey profile appealed to the Court of Appeal

At the end of October came the verdict in the case that has received much attention since SVT Sport in March revealed that a police investigation was underway with ties to the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.

When the judgment was rendered It turned out that the court followed the prosecutor’s line, and the man was sentenced to 80 daily fines of SEK 1,000, which is slightly less than the 100 daily fines the prosecutor wanted him to be sentenced to, but still slightly higher than the standard sum.

It is now clear that the sentence appealed. The man’s attorney, Kerstin Koorti, filed an appeal late Thursday afternoon, citing new evidence, including a report of the tournament incident where the harassment took place, which she claims contradicts some of the evidence cited during the proceedings of the district court.

“If the new evidence had been known to the district court, the district court would have reached an acquittal,” Koorti writes on appeal.
