The proportion of those who believe they have been infected with COVID-19 in the workplace is increasing dramatically, Upsala Nya Tidning writes.

Week 46, 49 percent of those who tested positive in Uppsala County said they believe they have been infected in the workplace. In week 41, the proportion was 20 percent, figures from the Crush covid research project at Uppsala University show.

Data from the Public Health Agency also shows that more people have been to their workplaces this fall compared to this spring.

Anna Gillman, an assistant infection control physician in Uppsala, says that congestion in cafes is a common cause of spreading infections.

– In the healthcare sector, almost no infection is observed between staff and patient. But when you get out of your job role and take a break. Then it’s harder to stay focused and that’s when the infection spreads, he tells UNT.
