Greta
Directed by Nathan Grossman, with Greta Thunberg, Svante Thunberg, Malena Ernman, Arnold Schwarzenegger and a whole host of prominent world politicians.
MOVIE REVIEW. The film about climate activist Greta Thunberg is more intimate than expected.
It represents, for example, a small talk with the president of France. But it is also a home report, showing the price the 17-year-old has had to pay for his fight for the environment.
DOCUMENTARY FILM. The Swedish film was praised not only by me at the world premiere in Venice in September, but also by much of the industry press.
And it’s a movie where we get everything we hope for and more.
Through visiting television crews, first Swedish, then foreign, how it is shown effectively Greta thunbergs lone protest for the environment outside the Riksdag quickly grew into something much bigger. Skillful storytelling. Y Nathan grossman he’s really the one who would make this movie, because he was there from the beginning with his movie camera.

Then we can continue her journey through Europe to meetings on the climate, to the EU and to meetings with Pampers as president of France. Emmanuel macron, who is the most shy when it comes to small talk on the sidelines.
There, everything runs on the edge of long-awaited tracks. But understandably, even those who don’t slavishly follow the news should understand how Greta Thunberg became a global phenomenon.
It is the private moments that get stuck the most. Father Svantes commitment that the daughter, who has had serious eating disorders, not eat enough food. And mom Malena ernmans happiness tears. Not because the daughter has become a world celebrity, but when she has finally started to eat reasonably normally.
He also gets caught up in Greta’s intelligence and rather black humor. What a perfectionist he is when he writes his rhetorically magnificent speeches. With what distance do you ridicule the online paper comments about her? And he takes the death threat more calmly than his parents.
But Greta can’t keep the light on all the time. During the trip across the Atlantic, he collapses. I think that the environmental fight is too great a responsibility. I just want to go home. Have regular routines.
The trip on the narrow sailboat is a thriller in itself. Imagine for a second that you were transferred to Earl’s karmic world.
Director Nathan Grossman seems to have earned everyone’s trust one hundred percent and has taken it well, although I would have liked to see more of the trip to America than the classic. How dare you?speech at the UN.
Greta’s environmental fight has been important. Or … maybe sometimes also a little insignificant. She herself says that those in power continue to lie and do nothing. If and yet she continues her fight, she probably will, you really invite her into a slightly more normal Greta life too.
FOOTNOTE: The film will be released in theaters on Friday, November 20. Starting November 24, it will also air on TriArtPlay and SF Anytime.
