It was in August that two young men were subjected to a brutal overnight robbery for rape in a Solna cemetery.
Now the two alleged perpetrators, aged 18 and 21, have been charged with a long list of crimes.
In police questioning, vulnerable youth recounted the fear they experienced during the night.
They had been having fun with other friends and were on their way home when they met two unknown men at the cemetery. The men asked if they wanted to buy hashish and when the youths refused, one of the men pulled out a knife, threatened them and ordered them to accompany him to the cemetery, the youths say when questioned.
Forced into the graveyard
Under knife threats, they leave their wallets, valuables and information and bank identification codes and credit cards.
When the youths were forced to go from one cemetery to another, the abuse escalated.
– There they put us and they beat us badly with perhaps forty kicks to the head at both of them, says one of them in questioning.
The young men were forced to undress. With a knife, one of the perpetrators cut the garments and used them to tie up the robbery victims.
– Then they tie our hands, feet and then each of us put a sock in our mouths so that we cannot speak.
One of them says:
– Ehm then they undressed us but it is … during this time there are many kicks. It’s hard to know how many, but I also start bleeding pretty early. So I don’t have clothes, but it was like, I felt like everything flows. Something like I would bathe in blood then. Because then it was like maybe ten, fifteen kicks for about a minute.
Burned with lighters
During the night, the robbery victims were beaten, kicked, raped, burned with lighters, stabbed in the thigh, beaten with a shovel, trampled on and forced into their respective graves where they were allowed to remain for several hours.
During questioning, one of the young men says that the youngest of the perpetrators wanted to kill them, but that the older thief calmed him down and tried to get him to focus on the robbery.
The perpetrators demanded tens of thousands of crowns from the youths and their families hundreds of thousands of crowns. Money that the victims of the robbery had no opportunity to give them.
In the morning the youths were told that the robbers would pick up a van that would take them to an apartment in Nacka. There they would be mutilated, hand to hand, if the money was not paid.
Ran for his life
When the two thieves moved about twenty meters away from the place to speak, the two young men saw their opportunity. Naked and injured after the events of the night, they began to run in the opposite direction.
They made it out of the cemetery and were able to sound the alarm.
One of the young men says during interrogation that he had lost hope. That they would die anyway.
– Either I was running and dying or not running and dying. And we managed to run without dying, he says.
