To cope with the growing spread of covid-19, most of Sweden’s 21 regions have gone into personal mode.
In some regions, preparedness has risen to another level: to a state of reinforcement. In the Stockholm region, Södersjukhuset, among other places, has been put in a strengthening position, but due to ventilation problems.
In a press release Danderyd Hospital announces that starting Thursday, they will move from a staff position to a reinforcement position due to the continued high influx of COVID-19 patients. The hospital further reduces planned care and takes steps to ensure access to places of care, staff, materials, and protective equipment.
– We are now increasing our preparedness so that we can quickly prioritize our actions and make decisions, says Yvonne Haglund Åkerlind, executive director of Danderyd Hospital in the press release.
