Now it is the insulation that is reapplied. Stay home and hang out only with those you live with. Television should be the window to the world. Stock Photography.
First relief, then squeeze hard again. The spread of infection is now increasing, as are the limitations on our lives and the demands for isolation.
Here are some important decisions that were made this fall:
October 1: Nursing home visits are allowed again. The ban, in effect since March 31, has been difficult for the elderly who have felt very isolated, as well as their family members who have not been allowed to see them.
Since the ban was lifted, some municipalities, such as Stockholm, Gothenburg and Uddevalla, have chosen to introduce their own visitor stops.
October 19: The Swedish Public Health Agency opens for the introduction of local general advice in the event of local outbreaks. They can cover an entire region or parts of a region. The public health authority decides on the local general councils.
October 20: Regional General Councils are introduced in Uppsala, which is the first of the regions because the spread of the infection is increasing very rapidly. Since then they have been expanded. The advice means, among other things, that physical contact with people other than those who live together should be avoided, unnecessary travel should be avoided, and meetings, concerts, shopping centers and gyms should be avoided. Bars and restaurants should also be avoided.
October 22: Special tips for people over 70 years old are eliminated. The advice, which meant that the more than 70 people and people in risk groups would be isolated to be protected, has been in effect since March 16. Now, instead, it is emphasized that all people must maintain physical distance.
The government also announces that the limit for public gatherings will be raised from 50 to 300 people on November 1. The decision had been postponed, at first an even bigger increase was in sight.
By then, since mid-October, the spread of the infection had already started to increase significantly. On October 22, 1,666 new cases of infection were found, compared to 438 on September 22 and 160 on August 22.
October 27: Regional General Councils are introduced in Skåne. Since then they have been expanded.
October 29: Regional General Councils are introduced in Stockholm and Östergötland counties as well as Västra Götaland. The advice differs slightly between counties, but the main message is the same: avoid physical contact with people other than the ones you live with and refrain from staying in rooms where many can gather.
November 1: The 300-person limit for public gatherings goes into effect.
November 3: The government announces that a maximum of eight people is allowed in the company of the pub.
Regional general councils are introduced in Halland, Örebro and Jönköping counties. In all, eight regions now have local general councils.
November 5: Regional general councils are introduced in Kronoberg and Sörmland counties.
November 10: Regional General Councils introduced in Kalmar, Västerbotten and Norrbotten counties.
November 11: The government announces that as of Friday, November 20, a ban on alcohol will be introduced in the restaurant from 10 pm.
November 12: Regional General Councils are introduced in Värmland, Västmanland and Dalarna counties and in Gotland.
November 16: The government announces that public gatherings are now limited to eight people. Prime Minister Stefan Löfven hopes that everyone will see this as the “new norm” and that now everyone will avoid situations where they encounter many other people.
– It is a very clear signal for all the people of our country and for the whole society, said Löfven at the press conference.
Since October 22, the national limit has been 300 people, but by decision of county administrative boards, that limit in almost all regions has been lowered to 50 people in connection with the introduction of general councils at the local level.
November 16: Regional General Councils are introduced in Gävle and Västernorrland County. Local general councils now apply in all regions except Jämtland Härjedalen.
November 17: The government announces that it has signed an agreement for the purchase of vaccines with three different manufacturers that, provided they are approved, will be sufficient for the entire population.
November 18: The government announces that it will be easier to teach in secondary schools and distance universities. This spring, high schools and colleges taught distance learning from March 17 through the end of May. During the fall, teaching at universities and colleges took place both on-site and remotely, as well as in some upper secondary schools.
