There is a lot of pressure on ambulance care right now in Stockholm. Stock Photography.
In the Stockholm region, it is now claimed that the number of transports per day is approaching the spring peak of 160 per day.
– Now we have a strong increase and last week it was around 140 and seems to assume an increase, even if the rate of increase has decreased slightly. We don’t really know where it will land, but it has increased dramatically during this latest rally, Patrik Söderberg, chief physician for pre-hospital care in the Stockholm region, tells Ekot.
In Gothenburg, there are fears that pressure will mount in the region. Therefore, reinforcements have now been requested from the defense.
– Our request is for three ambulances with paramedics, where we will have licensed personnel, says Elisabeth Hammar, operations manager for ambulance care at Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg, to Ekot.
