At 01.16, the police received an alarm about a person in Uppsala who had been attacked from behind and stabbed twice in the back.
According to the police, the man must have been unknown to the victim, who is in his 20s and has been taken to the hospital by ambulance.
– What can be said is that the 20-year-old has had extreme luck with the stabbing that has led him in such a way that it does not cause him to suffer serious injuries. But it’s a coincidence, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, a media spokesman for the Mitt police region.
The perpetrator must have fled the scene after the incident.
Get off at the same bus stop
The victim and the assailant were on the same bus, Sala number 848, and shortly after 01 arrived in Uppsala. They both dropped out at Ekonomikum.
– Exactly what emerged I cannot enter, but at least you have observed the person on the bus and then got off at the same stop, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.
The assailant must, according to the police, be on the bus when the victim got on.
The police have launched a preliminary investigation into the assassination attempt and are asking the public for information.
– We are very eager for leads because we have no suspects at this time, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.
The police have received information about complaints but do not want to go into more detail about which ones so as not to lock up witnesses.
