Joe Biden plans to move to the White House in Washington and names several of those who will be part of his inner circle.
Democrat Joe Biden names several people who will be part of his immediate sphere when he plans to take power in the United States.
Joe Biden is not waiting for President Donald Trump to formally throw in the towel and admit electoral defeat. Without looking at Trump, Biden, who turns 78 on Friday, chooses an inner circle that will be his personal weapon bearer within the White House.
An American president has two tools at his disposal in the exercise of power.
Appoints a government, often called an administration or cabinet, in which ministers head the various ministries. Ministers must be approved by the Senate.
Loyal group
Then the president has his closest, a dedicated and hardworking group that makes sure that the president comes true.
Biden has previously said that he will elect employees who come from America’s multifaceted and mixed population. But when the names are published, it becomes clear that he chooses those who have been loyal to him for a long time.
The heaviest job, as Chief of Staff or Chief of Staff at 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, is Ron Klain.
Lawyer Klain, 59, was previously the chief of staff to Vice President Al Gore and Joe Biden. He is well established among the party leaders and is used to moving around in the oval room of the presidential office.
Female campaign manager
On Monday, Biden announced that his deputy chief of staff will be 44-year-old campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon. She made history as the first female campaign leader to win a presidential election.
Attorney Mike Donilon will also be included in Biden’s immediate circle. He was a close advisor during Biden’s tenure as vice president from 2009 to 2017.
Biden’s former chief of staff, attorney Steve Ricchetti, will serve as an advisor. He served in the White House already during the presidency of Bill Clinton and later had close contacts with members of Congress, especially the Senate.
Attorney Dana Remus, with experience at the top two universities, Harvard and Yale, is entering the big circle. She is one of those who carries with her a political legacy from her former president and friend Barack Obama, who also performed the wedding of her and her husband.
Replaces Ivanka
The key person in Biden’s election campaign, Cedric Richmond, also occupies a place in the inner circle of the White House. Richmond, which represents the state of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans in the House of Representatives, has previously led the black parliamentary group in Congress.
He will represent Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, in the role of senior adviser to the incoming president.
However, the hallways of the house are known for power plays, intrigue, and manipulation, and staff turnover is great. Barack Obama, for example, downed five chiefs of staff, while Donald Trump has so far had four.
