On Monday, police found a dead man in a hotel in central Stockholm. It is not yet clear how the man died, but a preliminary investigation into the murder has been launched.
– When you can’t immediately see why the person is dead, you start a preliminary investigation. The body must be subjected to an autopsy, but before knowing what happened, people can forget and the traces will disappear. It is therefore important in this situation that investigative measures are taken, says Towe Hägg, a police spokesman.
Pending the results of the autopsy, the police have had technicians on the scene, have examined the hotel’s surveillance cameras and have tried to map the man’s movements before his death.
The man has been identified but not all the family members have yet been notified, so the police choose not to go out with more details about him.
