The Västerbotten region has strengthened recommendations for families where someone in the home has tested positive for the coronavirus. Hardening means that all family members, including children, must stay home, Västerbottens-Kuriren reports.

– All affected families receive information about it in relation to the conversation with the infection markers. The basic rule of thumb is that you should be home seven days from the time the sample was taken from the sick person. Now we are gradually communicating this in our networks in municipalities, schools and companies, says Stephan Stenmark, infection control doctor in the Västerbotten Region, to the newspaper.

The goal of the adjustment is primarily to slow down the spread of the infection.

– After considering it, we have thought that it can be clear that all family members are at home and that it generates less anxiety and less uncertainty in operations. But it’s mainly about being able to slow down the general spread of the infection, says Stephan Stenmark.
