It is Värmlands Folkblad who are reporting that a jogging coach in Sweden has been the target of extortion attempts by two men with whom the coach has had no prior relationship.
The trotting coach, who today primarily runs races as a driver, has been active in the V75 for the past few years and earned his last victory there as recently as this year.
According to the newspaper, the perpetrators tried to pressure him for a larger sum of money, since they possessed more than 100 clips of films where the man abuses horses and dogs.
If they didn’t demand the money, the two men would leak the videos to family, friends and the head coach. The man has said in police questioning that the serious abuse of animals, which he later filmed, started when he came into contact with a woman in Karlstad.
– He said he would do things for her to do things for me. It was the decoy that made me cross the border, the coach must have told the police according to VF.
– It reached such a level that if it comes out, I think about where I can escape.
“If I had wanted money I would have sold it”
The two attackers claim that they had access to 170 movies about the trotting car when it committed abuses, but the coach himself believes that not many move.
– I may have sent more movies, but I’m not in the movies. I have googled movies and submitted them. I have not shot 170 movies.
One of the aggressors has stated in the interrogation:
– I wanted to give him a nosebleed. I thought it would have been nice if it had worked. That it came with the money, I would have returned it and told him never to. If he wanted money, he would have sold it to Aftonbladet, says the man.
The two perpetrators have now been charged with aggravated extortion, one of them with attempted extortion. However, one of the men denies the crime. According to VF, it is also unclear whether the jogging coach’s actions will have legal consequences in the current situation.
