A 20-year-old woman has been sentenced to eight years in prison for murder, since she killed her boyfriend during a fight at an apartment in Solna this summer, Expressen reports.
It was the same 20-year-old who called the police on the night of July 4 this summer and told them what happened. The woman claims that during a violent fight with her boyfriend, she grabbed a nearby knife and stabbed him in what she describes as self-defense. The man was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.
The court considers, however, that the woman herself initiated the dispute, that she lied in her description of what happened in the apartment and that the prosecutor denied that she should have acted in self-defense. However, according to the prosecution’s complaint, she is not sentenced for murder, but for murder, because it is considered that she killed the man with alleged indifference.
The woman is sentenced to eight years in prison and must pay SEK 300,000 in damages.
